Re: Parents Supporting Unwell Adult Children
Hello @spr14
Your child has so much grief now, but things can turn around for her. Maybe if she can find online groups it will help take the edge off it.
I, and a daughter have struggled with gender identity. She became so nitpicky, no matter how accepting I was, that she went off at me for not knowing all the differences between the state laws.
Quite a few people have posted about their own experiences being transgender on the forum. We have a regular who has raised a trans child and has a grandchild. You are not alone even in this brave new shifting world.

Re: Parents Supporting Unwell Adult Children
Hi @spr14 your post moved me so I wanted to let you know you are not alone. I have a transgender nonbinary adult child who came out about 7 years ago. And they also have PTSD. If you want to talk with me just tag me - put the @ symbol in front of my name and it should show up in a drop-down menu.
Tagging @Former-Member here too. Can you give @spr14 the Queer Line number please. @spr14 they do telephone counselling for anyone who is going through transition as well as their families and carers. Could be a good support for you to reach out to.
You'll mostly find me on the 'A Long Rave' thread in the Lived Experience forum if you want to have a conversation with me.

Re: Parents Supporting Unwell Adult Children
Ooooooh ..... having baby-dragon-fire moments with my youngest at the moment ..... sheโs stressed and takinโ in out on her mumma..... big time ..... then apologising, before doing it again.
Feeling pretty short on stuffing at the moment, but she is achieving in her studies so I hope she will settle again shortly.
