Re: Darkness

I dont sleep till about 1/2am so ill be up for a while yet if talking helps.
Can you light a nice smelling candle or leave the tv on for background noise? One of mine is leaving the fan on low and diffusing essential oils like lavender (which is a soother oil). Maybe something like that might help you.. @Lee82

Re: Darkness

I hope so too. I am glad @Former-Member has some support with her at the moment. She definitely needs a little care. I hope she knows we are all here for her too. Thinking about her and sending out gentle hugs to her and you @outlander and everyone on the forum.

Re: Darkness

At mums I don't have any candles to burn. She would probably have a heart attack anyway. At home I normally burn one at night. The room I'm in has no Tv so can't do that but I do have some music playing at the moment. I always need some noise in the background. The silence sends me crazy. @outlander

thank you for offering to sit with me but I feel like I'm taking up all your time burdening you with all my s**t when I know you are having a rough time too.

Re: Darkness

Music is good too @Lee82 i dont really like compete silence either or pitch black rooms, i like it dark but just a crack open esp since i habe a habit of tripping over well anything lol.
What makes it worse is my pop who i live with and care for has a clock obsession (the last i counted there was 25 in the whole house and outside) but when its silence all you can hear is the different types of ticking noises 🤦‍♀️😫

Have you got any games on your phone?
I have like word search, solitare, mahjong that usually makes me abit tired but keeps me focussed on something as well.
Might be worth downloading some to play at night?

Re: Darkness

The ticking sounds of all those clocks would send you a little crazy @outlander. Your pops is very lucky to have you to take care of him.
I get severe anxiety sleeping in bedrooms and haven't slept in a bedroom in almost 2 years since my husband left. so being here right now in mums spare room is very triggering. She doesn't know all that I have been through and so I was hoping my SP would knock me out quickly.

Re: Darkness

That would make things hard @Lee82
How long are you at your mum's house for?
As hard as it is, you could use this time for working through your anxiety and learning what might help you when you go back home.
The things i suggested could be a good starting point esp like thr aromatherapy as that often gives a comfort feeling but theres lots of other things to try.

Can i ask if you've got supports that are helping you during this time that you could speak to about how your feeling esp staying in a bedroom?

Re: Darkness

We are here for 2 weeks at least. @outlander  I do have games on my phone that I play from time to time. Don't judge me but I play candy crush...lol also 100 pics and few other puzzle like games that I can't think of at the moment.
I have a psychologist that I see regularly. She will be checking in on me daily after Thursday night. Other than her I have no one else

Re: Darkness

I havent played candy crush in ages lol @Lee82 even at my young age it didn't last to long for me lol.
Whats 100 pics?

Im glad youll have your psych, please be honest with her and ask for help during this rough time your having. Maybe ask about support workers as well as an extra support person?

Re: Darkness

I also play the game happy colour. It's so addictive. 100 pics is where they reveal a part of the picture and you have to guess what it is.
I do try to be honest with my psych. It's not always the case though but I will mention those suppprt people You. Suggested and she what she says. Thanks @outlander

my prn is starting to kick in finally so if I don't reply you know why that is.
If that happenes I want to thank you in advance for sitting with me and chatting with me tonight @outlander . It means a lot. 💕

Re: Darkness

Oh sounds like an interesting game @Lee82 ill have to have a look.

Being honest is one of the hardest yet bravest thing that someone can do in some cases esp when it comes to mental health.

And your welcome, i dont mind. Im just listening to music and chilling out.
