No stress @Captain24
You are all my forums family/friends. I don't like face to face stuff. I hate social stuff. I can put a show on and pretend I like it, but I deep down, hate it.
People don't realise the stress and anxiety when I go to an event. Hence I like taking the kids. I can sorta hide behind them because people focus on them, not me.
I must prefer text communication - hence the forums!
I don't even like speaking over the phone. Look, I do it, but it's not a preference.
With Peer Support, talking and providing peer support has reciprocal benefits. You gain, but so do I.
Although I'm highly qualified in other areas, I choose to stay in a peer support role because I absolutely love it. I find it very fulfilling.

BTW, I'm not saying peer support doesn't require skills. However, it doesn't require someone to have a bachelor, masters or PhD. You just need to be the expert in your experiences @Captain24
If you know what I mean.
I don't want people to think that peer support workers are not qualified, because yes, there are peer support certs etc out there.
I think in the future, the lived exp workforce will grow, and there will be already-created, high profile jobs out there - where there really isn't at the moment. You sort of need to develop it yourself.
Only recently lived experience was more recognised in MH so that all MH organisations needed to work towards having a lived exp workforce.

I want to be around @Captain24 .
And you don't have to maintain a freindship, we are here to support you.
Good luck with the difficult admissions forms. Also with getting through the weekend... 💙

No no. I'm not doing a PhD. I'm doing research as part of a research team, but it's not towards a PhD. My research is based on therapy for BPD @Captain24 and to analyse interviews etc. I can't disclose exactly what the topic is, as it will be one of a kind when it's published and may then breach anonymity if you know what I mean 🙂
Hope I'm making sense.

Yeah… they’ve been all over me this morning. I try to get rid of them and tell them to leave me alone but the more I say it, the closer they get and they sit on top of me. @Captain24
They are sick though. I think they are all exhausted. @Captain24
I’ve told my sister that when we go to the holiday house, I want my own room and NO kids. I’ll let you know how that goes. lol.
