Awww hun @Birdofparadise8 . Hugs.
Thinking about life can be depressing....
Yet I acknowledge you have been able to reach out on the forums tonight. This shows great strength and resilience.
In my own recovery, there are some things I'm mindful of when feeling low:
1) make sure I don't scroll through FB, instagram etc
2) put a pause on thinking about the past or the future and focus on the now
3) distract myself so as not to dwell on SH
4) connect with people
These are some things that work for me.
Can you think of what works/doesn't work for you?

Thank you @tyme
Yes I definitely don’t got on social media it makes things worse the last time I did that scrolling through TikTok I cried because I saw my friends 2022 recap for lots of different reasons.
Yes i suppose though I contacted kid helpline and we talked about the bullying I experienced at school and that kind of made me feel worse so that might have a bit to do with it, but I was feeling sad before that.
I definitely like connecting with others I find that helpful and just being able to vent about what is on my mind beneficial.

In myself, when down, I prefer to disconnect with people and the world @Birdofparadise8 . However, after doing this for many years of my life, I realised how harmful it was to me. Therefore, now, when I am down, I allow myself to have a little cry, but then I get out and connect with people - otherwise, I'm dwelling on the negative and end up doing things I regret.
You have come such a long way @Birdofparadise8 . I am actually really impressed with how engaged and proactive you are about your recovery. When I was your age, I was no where even close to being ready to take an active approach.
Well done to you!

I've had to tackle trauma myself @Birdofparadise8 . To be honest, there are some areas in trauma I will never visit, yet there are others that will will - purely because it is affecting my everyday life.
Definitely worthwhile chatting about when I get back. I'll be back on Wed, so we can speak then, shall we? I'm looking forward to catching up with you 🙂
