Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

5 TIPS TO HELP DECLUTTER
1. Focus on 1 area of your home at a time
2. Commit to decluttering for 15 min
3. Start in one spot and keep working around the room from there
4. Have 3 bags nearby for garbage, recycling, and donate
5. Have a picture in your mind for what you want the space to look like and how you want it to function once it's all decluttered.

Yeah, you're probably right @Former-Member. I should give her credit for thinking of me in her offer but after I get the videos, I can't see us reconnecting. That's life I guess.

How are you today? The asthma / allergy thing any better? Glad that your temperature has gone down.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Awwww @Former-Member. Don't forget your birds. And maybe the naughty cat will drop by too.

I accidentally bought canary food for the budgie a while back. He didn't seem to mind and at last the box is finished. I started him on the proper budgie seed a couple of days ago and he's hardly touched it. Maybe he prefers to be a canary. He doesn't seem to like the oats which the canary seed didn't have.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Yeah, the birds went quiet for a few days after recent close encounter with neighbours cat - but chatty again now - Gem has my fav melody. Tossed a small clump of grass in the cage again - the finches love it and drag it up into the nest, very funny.

Despirately need a shower, wash my hair etc - MUST DECLUTTER - clear around that fuse box, really hoping that's all it is. In the meantime, heating up water in a bucket will just have to do.

DECLUTTERED THE MEDICINE CABINET today, vitamins and suppliments and first aid box etc. Took about an hour. So many things out of date or no longer necessary. Grouped similar together (eladtic bands or transparent bags). Its a good feeling, that SENSE OF CONTROL BACK, when we step back and see it all organised and functional again. And I CAN FIND THINGS AGAIN! without breaking down in despair and givingbup and running to Dr for another script because I keep losing that too. I soon look fwd to getting more of this control back in my life. LESS STUFF IS A MUST!

Ha, just realised I didn't have one tempting suicidal thought going through all that stuff 🎉 Yay! proof I am much better!

I'm judt cooking up Spag Bolog with a ton of Garlic, think you its making me sweat out the toxins - the garlic, or is it just hot? maybe both, don't normally sweat (must keep the water up). Borrowed a camping cooktop which helps (not having functional stove) but not use to irregular heat, burnt a bit.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Good on you @Former-Member for continuing with the decluttering. My bathroom drawers could use some attention. Kitchen is okay except for the cupboard with all the plastic shopping bags etc. I shall make that a mission before next rubbish colllection day. Mostly my daughter's purchases. The courier came four times last week with stuff for her, mostly crafty things she ordered. She doesn't take after me in that realm but my mother was very creative.

So happy to hear that your mood has lifted too. Keep it up!!! 👍🏼😀

Hope your spag bol was salvageable. A bit tricky trying to cook like you're camping. My hotplates never get hot enough. I can't boil water to cook pasta. Has to be done in the microwave. Have complained about them but haven't had any luck. We don't eat a lot of meat so browning stuff isn't a big issue. I do have a grill / sandwich toaster type appliance that I use sometimes to cook with.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Hello @soul xx

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Hi @ lapses .... well done! And thanks for the tips🙂 That must feel great. I just woke up from a nap. I'm going to get up and do a room. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration.

How about you @Shaz 51, do you have the energy to tackle a cabinet or room with me now?

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

so hard to do and totally understand how you are feeling with letting go of stuff @Former-Member

well done for tackling such a task.....takes the bravest

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Lovely replies @Former-Member, @Shaz51, @ideaslady, @soul, thanks, could do with the encouragement. And it inspires me to hear about your achievements. One box, one drawer, one cupboard at a time. Before & after photos welcome.
@utopia, how are you going with getting your home organised again?

Organisibg, decluttering is hard when we've let it go for so long, after a depressive relapse or illness...

@Kurra, think you're the only person in the world who understands why I have to rest my back every couple of hours. Thank you! How are you tonight?
