I am feeling a bit fragile. I might try and do some journaling to show my psychologist. Maybe we can work on these feelings this week.

Re: Best Friends Club

Could those feelings be about tomorrow being mothers day my sister @Oaktree 🥰

You are a beautiful,  wonderful mum ❤️ to your children

Hoping you can enjoy your day tomorrow as mum xx

@Shaz51

Normally I don’t think too much about my Mum. However she crossed my mind this afternoon. She had 6 kids and she is not in contact with any of us. I wonder what she thinks about the day. However it also makes me feel the abandonment and rejection more strongly

Re: Best Friends Club

Sending you lots of understanding hugs my sister ❤️ @Oaktree

My rejection was from my father

Re: Best Friends Club

Thanks @Shaz51

My sister

It hurts, doesn’t it?

Re: Best Friends Club

It does @Oaktree

And it still does affect me even now at times

@Shaz51

Sometimes we have to choose our own family. Blood does not always mean much. I haven’t seen my Dad since I was 19 and before that since I was 8. I was not blessed with good parents

Re: Best Friends Club

Thanks so much for volunteering to do that @Shaz51 I hope you had an interesting day, despite it being long and a bit difficult

Re: Best Friends Club

Sorry to hear that @Oaktree I am glad you've got a strategy to try and deal with your fragility. I hope you have a good session with your psychologist

Re: Best Friends Club

Coping with the enormous struggle of Mother's day... For me.

Played smaller recorders and sang and joked and chatted this morning at church.

Home for quick lunch of Vegemite and cheese on Ryvita crackers.

Then drive across town for more recorder playing. This time traditional 8 foot, with my basset being among the small recorders of this ensemble today.

All the burdens of blame and shame in my family ricochet around in my head, heart, body and soul. 4 generations of problematic stories about motherhood, that I know of. We can be sure it goes back further. Motherhood should never be put to the perfection test. The point is we are all human.

Trying to be real and caring still, and all my life.
