I am in two minds on this one.... 

I do think people should be finding ways to bridge those gaps despite opposing poitical ideologies, for sure. I will however say that for me as a transgender person, certain political ideologies are quite simply dangerous for me. So I refuse to make space in my life for people whose political beliefs include a desire for me to disappear.

This one has a lot more nuance I think, and honestly the conclusion I have come to is that there is no one correct answer or way to go about these situations, so the seeking or giving of advice around them is never going to be free from bias.
