Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

Happy Saturday everyone! I'm struggling to get through the day like pulling a sled with 5000 pounds on it

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

Hey @amonrae04 ,

That's a heavy burden you're carrying. What's happening for you that's causing this?

What does self care look life for you?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

@tyme Just at a roadblock in life haven't been back to work yet my mind is just blocking me from doing it.

Self care is watching boxing on the couch tonight after the kids are asleep 😀

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

Thanks for replying. My day has been good, nothing too difficult to reply with.

You're welcome to share the good as much as the difficult, @MtLittleJoe 😋

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

Hi everyone!

Saturdays seems popular in here!

Does anyone else ever struggle with the question of what self care works for you?

Sometimes I have no idea if I'm:

Prioritising rest or bedrotting?

Isolating or carefully choosing my environment?

Exercising to stimulate endorphins or desperately trying to be too tired to think?

Although, tbh, I'm like this in a lot of areas. Anyone else?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

I deeply feel these contrasts you've articulated. Thank you for writing them. Prioritising rest v bedrotting - I feel like both of these can happen within the same hour or even minutes... What's the difference? Like, I might lay down with the intention to escape difficult tasks and thoughts, which I'd consider more 'bedrotting', but then realised once I hit the mattress how wired I was feeling and felt thankful I was prioritising rest! Hell, who knows?

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!

Isolating v care choosing environment - another cracker! Are u more extroverted or introverted generally? For me, I'm more on the extro end, but will sometimes book a hang with a friend feel deep regret. Mostly, though, I regret not booking in the first place. I think I've worked out for me that I need incidental 'bump ins' with people frequently. Where perhaps I've structured my time in order that I happen to be in environments where I'll get to interact with people, like the library or cafe or out in the surf. I really appreciate retreating though, too.
